Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
What is an EAP?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides short-term,
confidential counseling for you and your family at no
out-of-pocket expense to you. Reliant Behavioral Health,
a care management company, provides the counseling services
in collaboration with your employer or health insurer.
Is the service confidential?
Yes, all discussions between you and the EAP
therapist are confidential. Personal information is
never shared with anyone, including your employer, at
any time without your direct knowledge and approval.
(Exceptions are made only in cases governed by law
to protect individuals threatened by violence.)
Why use an EAP?
At times we all can use some help with
a personal problem or issue that is interfering with
our life or work. Most people experience personal or
family challenges in the course of their lives. Seeking
help early minimizes the chances of the problem escalating
and requiring more extensive and expensive services.
Often a few visits with a therapist are all that are
needed to gain perspective on a problem and regain a
sense of control in ones life.
An
EAP therapist can assist with issues related to:
- Stress
- Parenting
- Grief
- Marriage
- Work
- Finances
- Aging
- Depression
- Abuse
- Drugs/Alcohol
- Relationships
- Eating Disorders and many other issues
Reliant Behavioral Health therapists are experienced,
caring professionals who hold master or doctoral degrees
in counseling or a related field. All Reliant Behavioral
Health therapists are certified or licensed by the appropriate
state agency.
What
does my EAP offer?
- Professional, confidential counseling for you, your
household members, and your dependents at no out-of-pocket
cost
- Prompt, convenient, and accessible counseling locations
- Referral to community services or programs, if necessary
- Toll-free, 24-hour crisis hotline and resource center
Many issues are resolved with short-term counseling,
and there is no out-of-pocket expense for these services.
At other times, you and your EAP therapist may decide
a referral to an outside agency would be beneficial.
If a referral is made, the EAP therapist works with
you to ensure you receive the help you need and makes
every effort to direct you to professionals whose services
are covered by your insurance plan. You may be responsible
for costs outside your EAP, if a referral is made.
